This year we decided we would keep a blog of all our experiences from our outreach to Southeast Asia. If you are interested in what we are doing, you can come back to www.ywamturnervalley.org every Tuesday morning for the next 10 weeks to read our latest blog post. Each week our blog will be written by a different staff or student so check back often.
This week has been crazy and amazing at the same time. There are a lot of things that we have to prepare and now that the time is almost here it’s like: Guys we did, we are on our way!” Just planning english lessons and bible stories makes it seem like it’s more real. The excitement is really building up. Now that I am mostly packed I am getting really excited!
For those that are wondering what we will be doing there here is a little overview:
We arrive in Bangkok, Thailand and we have orientation. Then we get to sight-see and prepare for the next step. Then we go to another country in SE Asia and stay there for three weeks teaching English and working at a HIV Clinic. From there we leave and head on to the north of Thailand to Napajat. We are in Napajat for four weeks teaching English and doing odds and ends, and just helping where we are needed. Then it’s time to come back.
The time is going to go by so fast, but it will be amazing to be there and to experience something that some of us have never experienced before. But I have to be honest with you guys. I am a little scared about the foods that we are going to be eating. I know that every culture has different food, but from the ones that I have experienced they were all similar, so there wasn’t much to adapt to. Now that we are going to the other side of the world it just seems much more interesting. Oh well, sometimes we all have to step out of our comfort zones, I guess that this is my time.
Just one thing left to say: HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!
