What DTS has Meant to Me

 In DTS Blog
Here is an insightful and fun description of what DTS has meant to one of our past DTS students, Nikki. Enjoy!

Okay, so by this post, I’m not talking about YWAM on its own, but more-so the people I lived with, the environment I lived in, the opportunities I had, and the things we did.

This is basically a Turner Valley + Clan appreciation post

My DTS has meant:

doing things I never would’ve thought I’d do
going places I never would’ve thought I’d go
meeting people I never would’ve thought I’d meet
eating foods I never would’ve thought I’d eat
a whole new lifestyle of living in a community
a whole new lifestyle of new responsibilities and opportunities
a whole new world
friends across the world
lots of selfies with friends across the world
technology is lame; connecting and connections are cool
weighty topics
weight loss
weight gain
wanting to live by a river forever
learning how time-consuming it is to gift-wrap a door and individual coins
learning how awesome it is to gift-wrap a door and individual coins
learning to stop saying “no” to things like adventures and friendships and new foods
learning to enjoy working
learning to enjoy
learning to trust
learning to trust God
learning to trust other people
learning to trust myself
learning to grow
learning to live a healthy life
learning to live
learning
accepting
teaching
a chance to seek God
a chance to hear God
a chance to live outside fears and anxiety
a chance to live outside depression and insecurities
a chance to heal
a chance
unconditional acceptance
unconditional encouragement
unconditional love
